Hold the can approximately 12 inches (30cm) away from your artwork.
While primarily designed for pastels and charcoal, it *may* work on other dry media. Always test on a sample first.
Remove the nozzle and soak it in warm water. You can also use a pin to gently clear any blockages.
The fixative dries quickly, usually within a few minutes, depending on the coat thickness and environmental conditions.
Apply a lighter coat next time and ensure even distribution. Make sure the environmental conditions are suitable (not too humid). Test on a separate sheet of paper.
The fixative provides a protective layer, but the longevity of the artwork also depends on the quality of the paper and storage conditions. Store finished artwork in a stable environment, away from direct sunlight.
Apply a lighter coat and ensure the spray is evenly distributed. Check the humidity levels in the environment; high humidity can sometimes cause a bloom effect. Test on a sample piece first.
Clean the nozzle after each use. Hold the can upside down and spray for a few seconds after use to clear the nozzle. If clogged, try soaking the nozzle in warm water.
Ensure adequate ventilation. Check the surrounding temperature; drying is affected by both. Apply a thinner coat.
