The Foxglove (Digitalis purpurea) is a native British plant that is well-received in gardens, often appearing unnoticed until its towering flower stems dominate the landscape. These plants are prolific seeders, ensuring future blooms. Sow seeds outdoors in late spring or early summer in a well-prepared seed bed. Plant seeds thinly, 1.5mm deep, in drills 30cm apart. Keep the soil moist until germination, then thin seedlings to 15cm apart once they are large enough to handle. Transplant to their flowering site, 60cm apart, in the autumn for flowering the following year. Position: Sun, Semi-Shade, Dappled Shade. Height: Up to 120cm when fully established. Spread: Up to 45cm when fully established. Supplied as 1 Packet of Foxglove Alba Seeds, containing approximately 150 seeds. Images are for guidance only; actual results may vary based on growing conditions. The Foxglove Alba produces beautiful, rare large white spikes, an excellent display for any garden border. Its unique shape and color also make it a brilliant cut flower.
