The Primrose grows between 8 and 30 cm tall and is found mainly in small or larger groups. The Primrose is one of the first flowering plants in spring and shows its egg yolk yellow, strongly fragrant flowers depending on the location from April to June in the north or from February to May in the south. The Primrose has its natural habitat in large parts of Europe and the Middle East where it grows mainly on meadows in deciduous forests. The Primrose is a cold germinator and the seeds should initially be kept for about four to six weeks at a temperature between -4° C and +4° Celsius. You can achieve these conditions by sowing outdoors in the autumn. Cover the seeds only slightly with potting soil or special soil for herbs after sowing. Place the seed container in a bright and warm place with a temperature between 15°C and 20°C and keep the soil moist, but not wet. The Primrose prefers a sunny or semi-shady location and calcareous, loose soil.
