Unwins Ornamental Grass Festuca Blue Select Seeds will give you year-round colour and interest. It's ideal for container planting, producing neat, round clumps of blue-grey foliage. This winter hardy grass also tolerates drier soils. Perfect for pots, great in small groups. Sow: Mar to May, flowering Sep to Oct. Sow in trays of pre-watered seed compost and cover lightly. Keep in a cold frame or unheated greenhouse, do not allow to dry out, and allow 2–3 weeks for germination. When large enough to handle, transplant into 12 cm pots using a well-draining compost, ideally with added grit. Slowly acclimatise to outdoor conditions before planting out after frosts. Choose a sunny spot in any well-drained soil. Plant approximately 30 cm apart. Alternatively, plant in a large container using good quality compost, ensuring free drainage. Feed annually in spring. Equally suited to large pots, mixed borders, and larger scale planting.
