Grown in our Specialist Nursery, this Tillandsia Abdita air plant does not require compost. It thrives in bright, indirect light and grows slowly. It is tender and suitable for indoor use only. The glass bottle measures 16cm x 6cm. The Tillandsia abdita gradually forms a rosette of slightly curled, slender leaves, which turn an intense shade of red as the plant is about to flower. This variety is known for its brightly coloured foliage, which can have a reddish flush, especially when the plant is about to bloom. It is an undemanding plant, perfect for novice gardeners. For optimal growth, it needs a humid environment, making bathrooms or kitchens ideal. Mist the plant a couple of times a week, or more if the environment is dry and hot. Ensure excess water is shaken off, as the plant dislikes overwatering and should not sit in water. Using rainwater is recommended, particularly in hard water areas. Avoid using water from a water softener.
