Acer palmatum Sango-kaku - 3 Litre Potted Plant - Thompson & Morgan

Perfect for giving all year-round shape and structure to your garden, Japanese maples are low-main...Perfect for giving all year-round shape and structure to your garden, Japanese maples are low-maintenance and offer dramatic autumn leaf colour. We believe Acer palmatum 'Sango-kaku' is by far one of the best maples to grow, whether as a large deciduous shrub or small tree. You’ll love the coral-red young branches, which bear five-lobed leaves that open pinkish-yellow, turning green in summer and yellow in autumn. In winter, once all the leaves have fallen, the new red shoots glisten gloriously in the winter sunlight. It’s no surprise that this Acer holds a prestigious RHS Award of Garden Merit for its performance. Grow Acer palmatum trees in any moist, fertile, well-drained soil in sun or dappled shade. It is quite important to give plants shelter from strong winds which can scorch the leaves. Alternatively grow the Japanese Maple in large containers, using a soil-based compost such as John Innes No.3. Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only. Please note: This product cannot be delivered outside the United Kingdom.
