PEX (or crosslinked polyethylene) is part of a water supply piping system that has several advantages over metal pipe (copper, iron, lead) or rigid plastic pipe (PVC, CPVC, ABS) systems. It is flexible, resistant to scale and chlorine, doesn't corrode or develop pinholes, is faster to install than metal or rigid plastic, and has fewer connections and fittings. This fitting is made of nickel-plated brass (CW617N) and is designed for 16mm PEX-AL-PEX pipes. It can withstand a maximum temperature of +95°C at 6 bar and a maximum pressure of 1.0 MPa (10 bar) at 60°C. The gasket is an "O" - NBR type and the pad is PTFE.
