The Sonnet Echo Express SE IIIe is a high-performance PCIe card expansion chassis designed to connect multiple PCIe cards to any computer with a Thunderbolt 3 port. It features three PCIe 3.0 x8 slots that support full-height, half-length+ cards, allowing for flexible configuration of single-width or double-width cards. The 40Gbps Thunderbolt 3 interface delivers 2750 MB/s of PCIe bandwidth, doubling the performance of Thunderbolt 2. Its compact design is ideal for desktops, supporting most Thunderbolt-compatible non-GPU PCIe cards at full performance. The chassis includes two Thunderbolt 3 ports: one for connecting to the computer and another for daisy-chaining up to five additional Thunderbolt peripheral devices. It also features a temperature-controlled, variable-speed fan for quiet operation and an Energy Saver mode that powers on/off with the computer. The rugged aluminum housing provides robust protection. Auxiliary PCIe power connectors are available for power-hungry cards, and the daisy-chain port provides up to 15W of power to connected peripherals. TECHNICAL NOTES: ThunderLok 3 compatible with Sonnet 0.5- and 0.7-meter Thunderbolt 3 cables; 1- and 2-meter cables require ThunderLok 3L. Some computers with Thunderbolt 3 may limit PCIe performance to 20 Gbps. Full performance requires 40Gbps Thunderbolt 3 cables. Supports one 4K monitor directly, or two 4K monitors with specific monitor support or adapters. Supports one 5K monitor directly. Supports Thunderbolt and Thunderbolt 2 peripherals on Macs via adapter. Supports USB 3.1 Gen 1 or Gen 2 devices when connected with proper cable or adapter.
