It features half-hardy melon with pumpkin-like outer flesh, pale orange skin, and dark green stripes, emitting a rich fruity scent. The flavour is refreshing, sweet, and succulent, perfect for a summer's afternoon. Sow melon seeds from March to mid-April for indoor cropping or early April to May for transplanting outdoors. Sow seeds at a depth of 1cm in free-draining compost, placing in a propagator or sealed container at 20°C until germination (7-10 days). Protect seedlings from direct sunlight. Once germinated, pot on individual seedlings into 7.5cm pots and grow until large enough for growbags. Maintain 20°C and keep compost barely moist. Transplant 2 plants per growbag or 1m apart under frost-free glass, or into frames or cloches outdoors. For outdoor growing, cover the soil with plastic mulch 3-4 weeks before planting. Gradually acclimatise plants to outdoor conditions over 7-10 days before transplanting into warm, well-drained, humus-rich soil in full sun, with shelter from winds. Plant in single rows 50-90cm apart, with 2m between rows. Water well after planting until established. Product Specifications: Position: Full sun. Height: Up to 30cm when fully established. Spread: Up to 200cm when fully established. Supplied as 1 packet of 4 seeds. Delivered with growing and care instructions.
