Modelsvit 7206 Antonov An-225 'Mriya' 1:72 Aircraft Model Kit. The An-225 “Mriya” was designed in Ukrainian SSR for the needs of Soviet space program. In the 1980s, the Soviet Union finalized its work on the "Buran" shuttle and required a carrier aircraft capable of delivering the shuttle to Baikonur Cosmodrome. The first and only aircraft was built at Kiev Mechanical Plant in 1988. The An-225’s design inherited many technical features from the An-124, including similar fuselage cross-sections (though longer), similar wing consoles, and a landing gear system with an increased number of wheels (32 pcs). The plane was powered by 6 D-18T engines, the same type used in the An-124.
