Syringa Vulgaris Katherine Havemeyer, also known as Common Lilac, is a deciduous shrub plant grown in a 3L pot. It features wonderful scented lavender-purple flowers that bloom from May to June. This plant thrives in full sun and fertile, humus-rich, well-drained soil. It has average growth rate and is fully hardy. The dense clusters of double, lavender-blue flowers emerge from purple buds, complemented by heart-shaped, mid-green leaves. This spreading lilac is an excellent choice for a sunny, mixed, or shrub border. Garden care involves mulching in early spring, avoiding pruning young plants except for unproductive or diseased wood, and removing faded flower heads in mid-summer. A generous mulch of well-rotted garden compost or manure is recommended annually.
