The PLANET VC-232G is a high-performance Gigabit Ethernet over Coaxial Solution designed for long-distance and high-speed Ethernet over Coaxial applications. It features one 1000BASE-T RJ45 port and one BNC female connector in a compact metal housing. The VC-232G operates with existing coaxial networks, providing a bandwidth of up to 300Mbps duplex data rate and extending the transmission distance up to 1.4km. This makes it ideal for extending Ethernet data from coaxial cable to UTP cable for various IP network devices like HD IP cameras, wireless access points, NVRs, and digital signage. It utilizes Gigabit Ethernet and VDSL2 technology, offering stable, high-speed point-to-point network access. The converter supports two transmission modes: asymmetric (downstream up to 200Mbps, upstream up to 100Mbps) and symmetric (downstream up to 150Mbps, upstream up to 150Mbps). The symmetric mode offers similar upstream and downstream rates, while the asymmetric mode provides higher quality in short ranges. The VC-232G acts as a Long Reach Ethernet (LRE) solution, allowing a quick and smooth migration from analog to digital systems without the need for new network wiring, thus saving costs. It supports extending Ethernet networking up to 1,400 meters, making it suitable for long-distance IP devices, digital signage, IPTV, video education, and electronic billboards. The device offers easy and flexible installation with two operation modes: client-side CPE and central-side CO, adjustable via a built-in DIP switch. For point-to-point connections, a pair of VC-232G converters, one in CPE mode and the other in CO mode, is required.
