Juniperus squamata 'Blue Carpet' is a compact, low-growing, prostrate evergreen conifer. This fast-growing variety creates a handsome ground cover with distinctive horizontal sprays of attractive needle-like foliage that are silvery blue in summer, turning a more pronounced greyish color in winter. The 'Flaky Juniper' is extremely hardy and suited to various difficult conditions, including harsh cold and windy locations, even thriving in poor soil. It's perfectly suited for spots where a nice ground-hugging variety can be showcased or to help highlight taller, more colorful garden varieties, ideally placed in a rock garden or embankment.
