Originally from Australia, a real head-turner in sunny garden borders and cut flower arrangements. Sow indoors from February - April. These flowers make striking additions to your garden and stunning flower arrangements, perfect for a table centre piece. Perfect for pots. Excellent for cutting. Sow indoors: Feb to Apr. Flowering: Jul to Sep. Sowing Indoors: Almost fill a seed tray with moist seed compost. Sow seeds thinly over the surface, lightly covering with a little more compost. Place in the warmth, 22-25°C, and do not exclude light. Growing On: Keep seedlings in a light position, but shade from direct sunlight. When large enough to handle, transplant into 8-10cm pots of potting compost. Hardening Off / Planting Out: Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions for 2-3 weeks before planting out in full sun when the danger of frost has passed. Allow 30cm between plants. Do not allow to dry out, but take care not to over-water. Feed plants regularly with a liquid fertiliser. Advice: Also suitable for planting in containers. Ptilotus thrives in sun and hot weather. This variety also makes an excellent cut flower, on its own or in mixed bouquets.
