Setup: Ensure both vehicles are parked close enough for the 3.5-meter cables to reach, but not touching. Turn off both vehicles and remove keys from the ignition. Connect the red (+) clamp to the positive terminal of the dead battery, then connect the other red (+) clamp to the positive terminal of the good battery. Connect the black (-) clamp to the negative terminal of the good battery, and finally, connect the other black (-) clamp to an unpainted metal surface on the engine block or chassis of the vehicle with the dead battery, away from the battery itself.
