This bare-root tree, approximately 6ft tall, is cultivated and selected at our Norfolk nursery. It is particularly recognized for its smooth, peeling bark that reveals pale layers underneath, offering significant winter interest. In early spring, delicate white flowers emerge, followed by fresh green foliage that transforms into a golden-yellow hue in autumn. At maturity, the tree typically reaches a height of 20–30ft (6–9m). This variety is fully hardy and adaptable, thriving in most soil types and preferring a location with full sun or partial shade. It is best planted directly into the ground to allow its natural form to develop. You will receive one bare-root Prunus tibetica Birch Bark Cherry tree, approximately 6ft tall, clearly labeled, with roots protected in moist compost during transit. For planting and care: soak roots in water for 1-2 hours before planting. Plant in well-drained soil, ensuring the root flare is at soil level. Backfill, firm gently, and water thoroughly. Stake if necessary in exposed locations. Water regularly during the first growing season. Once established, the Prunus tibetica requires minimal maintenance and provides year-round seasonal appeal.
