The Catnic CX90 100 Extra-Heavy Duty Catnic Lintel is designed for cavity walls and features a built-in damp-proof course (DPC). It has a duplex anti-corrosion finish, galvanised and powder coated for lifetime resistance in harsh environments. For optimal performance, ensure blockwork fits snugly within the steel lintel's web and allow the supporting blockwork to cure properly. This premium steel lintel offers continuous insulation to reduce cold bridging and can contribute to Part L compliance. The lintel's design often negates the need for a separate DPC, directing moisture away from the cavity. A drip on the leading edge helps shed water penetrating the window head brickwork. The CX90/100 is suitable for structural openings from 750 mm to 4500 mm and supports loads from concrete floors, roof loads, timber floors, and attic trusses. It spans cavities from 90 mm to 105 mm and requires a minimum bearing of 150 mm at each end. Ensure both inner and outer masonry leaves are raised together and that wide openings are properly propped during mortar curing. The lintel is available in lengths from 900 mm up to 2700 mm, with a safe working load of 60 kN. Longer versions, up to 4.8 m, can handle 32 kN. The safe working load is based on the total uniform distributed load over the maximum span with 150mm end bearings. Catnic CX90 100 features a built-in plaster key with staggered slots on the inner flange and a ribbed underside of insulation for enhanced plaster adhesion. The CX AND CH Catnic Lintels have a perforated steel base plate. This open back lintel is designed for cavity wall construction and incorporates insulation, built-in plaster key, and DPC. It supports uniform distribution of masonry loads, timber floors, and roof loads, and is also suitable for fair-faced inner leaf masonry. It offers duplex corrosion protection, a built-in plaster key, a built-in DPC, and integral insulation. Formed from galvanised steel then powder coated, it's easy to use and features a Cougar open back profile with continuous insulation. Standard lengths are available in increments of 150mm up to 3000mm, and in 300mm increments for lengths between 3000mm and 3600mm.
