Full details

Bartoline 1876 PVA Adhesive is a high-performance primer and bonding aid for interior use. It is suitable for plastering, as an admixture, and for priming porous surfaces, making it ideal for professional users. This PVA adhesive can also bond most common building materials. For use as an adhesive, ensure surfaces are sound, dry, and clean, then join them while the PVA is still wet or tacky. For woodworking, use neat and clamp joints until the bond is formed (allow 24 hours for maximum strength). When applying plaster, use neat and brush onto the surface before plastering, applying while the PVA is still tacky. For small cement renders, combine Bartoline PVA with an equal amount of water and add to the mortar mix to improve adhesion and tensile strength. For larger areas, dilute 3 parts PVA with 1 part water and brush onto the surface to be repaired before the render mix dries. As a primer or sealer for porous substrates like old concrete, plaster, or plasterboard, dilute 1 part PVA with 5 parts water and brush onto the surface to prepare it for tiling or further coating. Minimum solids content is 34%. Coverage varies by porosity and substrate type: Neat = 6-12 m2/L, Diluted 1:1 = 16-24 m2/L, Diluted 1:3 = 18-36 m2/L, Diluted 1:4 = 24-48 m2/L, Diluted 1:5 = 30-60 m3/L. Drying time is approximately 1 hour for priming/sealing and 24 hours for maximum bonding strength. Use within 1 year of manufacture. Do not use as a primer for paint. After use, replace the cap firmly and clean tools with warm soapy water before the adhesive sets. Protect from frost.
