Troubleshooting
Wood still looks dry after application
Ensure the oil was applied liberally and rubbed in well. The wood may require an additional coat, allowing adequate drying time between applications.
Surface remains sticky or tacky
Excess oil may not have been removed properly after application. Gently buff the surface with a clean cloth. Ensure sufficient drying time has passed.
Oil is not drying within 24 hours
Ensure the application area has good ventilation and is not too cold or humid. Check that only Boiled Linseed Oil was used, as raw linseed oil dries much slower.
Cloth used for application is a fire hazard
Immediately wash all used cloths with soapy water and dispose of them outdoors, away from any flammable materials, to prevent spontaneous combustion.
