It features 8 XLR combo inputs (mic/line, +4dBu) with individual phantom power (+24/+48V), trim potentiometers, and input level indicators. It also has a connector for removable ZOOM capsules (optional), a built-in microphone for voice memos, and functions as a 10-channel recorder and mixer. The device supports resolutions up to 32-bit floating-point/192 kHz, and includes a high-pass filter, phase inverter, and mid-side decoder. Input delay is adjustable up to 30ms/10 frames per channel. It records in BWF-compliant Wav or Mp3 files up to 320 kbps. Time code functionality offers accuracy of 0.2 ppm with standard BNC input and output. For audio output, it provides 2x TA-3 line outputs (+4dBu) and an auxiliary output on a mini-jack. The recorder features a 6 cm colour LCD display with a monochrome mode and two SDHC/SDXC card ports supporting up to 1 TB, which can be used simultaneously or in redundancy. Power options include a Hirose 4-pin connector for external batteries (DC 9-18 Volts), 8 x AA batteries, and a supplied 12-volt power adapter. It also includes Zoom AutoMix and full headset monitoring (AFL/PFL) with mono mode and warning signals. Connectivity options include Bluetooth and the free F8 control app for iOS, and it can function as a USB audio interface (8 input/4 output). Optional accessories include the FRC-8 mixing surface, PCF-8n bag, ECM-3 and ECM-6 micro capsule extensions, CMF-8 camera mounting bracket, and TA3 to XLR TXF-8 cables.
