This Makita LXT Lithium-Ion battery is designed for optimal performance and longevity. It offers 280% more total lifetime work and 2x more charge cycles compared to standard batteries. The battery features a low self-discharge rate, meaning it stays ready for use even after extended storage. Charging at any time will not affect the battery's performance. Built-in shock-absorbing features protect the battery, while sixteen firm holding contact terminals minimize power loss or fluctuation during high vibration work. The integrated Memory Chip communicates with the charger to maximize battery life through 3 Active Controls: Current, Voltage, and Thermal. This battery is compatible with all Makita 18-volt LXT Li-ion machines. It also features Makita's STAR Protection Computer Controls, which allow the tool and battery to communicate in real-time to protect against overloading, over-discharging, and overheating. Overload protection cuts power during abnormally high current draw. Over-discharge protection prevents damage to cells by cutting power when the battery charge is too low. Overheat protection ensures the battery operates within safe temperature limits.
