Setup, Compatibility & Care
Initial Setup:
Upon first boot, the Acer Aspire 3 will guide you through the Windows 11 setup process. This includes connecting to a Wi-Fi network, signing in with a Microsoft account, and configuring basic privacy settings. Remember that Windows 11 Home in S mode restricts app installations to those available on the Microsoft Store.
Exiting S Mode (Optional):
If you need to install applications not available on the Microsoft Store, you can switch out of S mode. This is a one-way process and can be done through the Microsoft Store settings. Search for 'Windows 11 Home in S mode' and follow the prompts to switch.
Compatibility:
This laptop is compatible with standard USB devices, external monitors via HDMI or the USB-C port (which supports DisplayPort Alternate Mode), and Bluetooth accessories. Ensure that any software you intend to use is compatible with Windows 11. Applications not compatible with S mode will require you to exit S mode first.
Care Instructions:
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth to clean the exterior and screen. For stubborn smudges, lightly dampen the cloth with water. Avoid spraying liquids directly onto the laptop.
- Ventilation: Ensure the laptop's vents are kept clear of dust and obstructions to maintain optimal thermal performance. Do not place the laptop on soft surfaces like blankets or pillows that can block airflow.
- Battery Care: To preserve battery health, avoid exposing the laptop to extreme temperatures and try not to keep it plugged in at 100% charge for prolonged periods if not necessary.
- Storage: When storing the laptop for extended periods, ensure it is powered down and has at least 40-50% battery charge.
