The world's very first, fully hardy Gardenia variety, 'Kleims Hardy' can survive outside in temperatures as low as -1°C. It features snowy white, waxy flowers that completely cover its glossy, evergreen leaves from early June onwards, opening from tight buds to exquisite pinwheels. The scent of gardenias is often used in perfume, and this variety offers an intoxicatingly sweet fragrance, making it a heavenly addition to any patio. As a beautifully compact shrub, Gardenia Kleims Hardy is very easy to grow and simple to care for. Supplied as an established plant in a 9cm pot, it can be planted in a pot or a garden border, preferably using ericaceous compost, and will happily grow and flourish outdoors all year round. It reaches a maximum height of 60cm and a spread of 50cm. Planting is recommended between February and November in a position of partial shade, well sheltered. This plant is fully winter hardy and flowers from June to September.
