The Supa Squirrel Proof Feeder is designed to keep squirrels and larger bully birds at bay, allowing small garden birds to eat in peace. It is suitable for all general seed mixes and sunflower hearts. The feeder's mechanism involves an anti-squirrel baffle and weight-activated, spring-loaded perches that close the seed ports when heavier creatures land on them. The perches are ergonomically designed for comfortable feeding while maintaining predator awareness. Constructed from premium materials for durability. Feeding wild birds year-round is crucial, especially during winter and the nesting/breeding seasons. Approximate Dimensions: 45cm (H) x 18cm (W) x 18cm (D). Capacity: approx. 1.6kg wild bird seed / 1.4kg Sunflower Hearts. To fill, press the two spring-loaded lugs on the roof inwards and lift the lid. Once full, hang in your garden. Warning: Not suitable for peanuts. For cleaning, use warm water and a mild disinfectant solution occasionally to prevent bacterial buildup. Squirrels are persistent; to further deter them, ensure they cannot access the feeder by jumping from nearby structures or climbing the feeding station. Using a tree hook can increase the distance from the hanging point, acting as an additional deterrent. Providing a separate squirrel feeder may encourage them to use it instead of the bird feeder. Mixing a small amount of strong chilli powder into the seed mix can deter squirrels, as they dislike the taste, while birds are unaffected.
