Bartoline PVA is a versatile bonding agent, adhesive, and sealer suitable for a wide range of applications including as a cement and plaster admixture. It effectively bonds to most common building and DIY materials, excluding PVC and rubber. This product is ideal for priming unsound surfaces before plastering or painting, acting as an adhesive for wood, cork, textiles, and porous surfaces, sealing dusty paintwork and walls, and as an admixture for cement, mortar, screeds, and renders. Directions: Ensure surfaces are clean, sound, dry, and free from grease. As an Adhesive: Apply PVA to both surfaces, then join them while the PVA is still wet/tacky. Clamp joints to prevent movement until the bond is formed (allow 24 hours for maximum strength). As a Primer or Sealer: For sealing porous substrates like old concrete, plaster, or plasterboard, dilute 1 part PVA with 4 parts water and brush onto the surface. As a Bonding Agent: When applying plaster, use neat PVA and brush it onto the surface before plastering, while the PVA is still tacky. As a Cement Admixture: For small cement renders, combine PVA with an equal amount of water and add to the mortar mix to enhance adhesion and tensile strength. For large areas, dilute 3 parts PVA with 1 part water and brush onto the repair surface, then apply the normal render mix before the emulsion dries. As a Filler/Plaster Admixture: Dilute 1 to 1 with water and add to the mix instead of water. Note: Do not use in exterior applications or in areas subject to constant damp.
