It produces purple skin and good firm flesh with a consistent yellow colour and excellent taste. This variety is ready to harvest from September to December. Swede seeds can be direct sown outdoors from May to June, or sown into module trays. Grow Swedes in a weed-free, sunny position in non-alkaline, light, fertile, well-drained soil that has been raked to a fine tilth. Sow seeds thinly at a depth of 1cm in drills 30cm apart. Germination usually takes 7-10 days. When seedlings are large enough to handle, thin them out within each row to 23cm apart. The plant's height is up to 30cm (12in) and spread is up to 25cm (10in) when fully established. This packet contains 500 seeds and is delivered with growing and care instructions.
