Slender, golden-skinned fruits are abundantly produced all summer long. Courgette ‘Orelia’ is a prolific variety with a vigorous, open growth habit. Its stems and foliage are almost spine-free, making harvesting easy. This outstanding variety, awarded an RHS AGM, demonstrates excellent mildew resistance late into the season. Ideal for adding vibrant colour to stir-fries and other dishes. Courgette ‘Orelia’ will produce slender, golden skinned fruit throughout the summer months. Virtually spine free stems and foliage make this variety easier for picking. Perfect for adding colour to your culinary dishes. A heavy cropper with a vigorous open habit, this RHS AGM awarded variety has an excellent resistance to mildew late into the season. Water courgettes regularly - do not allow the soil to dry out as this will impair their development. Hoe between plants regularly to prevent weeds from establishing. Courgettes appreciate an application of a high potash fertiliser every two weeks during the growing season. Hand pollinating courgettes is not usually required when they are grown outdoors. However, for indoor cultivation the female flowers can be fertilised by pressing a male flower against them. Begin harvesting courgettes from midsummer on wards when they are 10cm (4") long. Regular harvesting will encourage more courgettes to be produced. Culinary note: Courgette flowers are edible and can be eaten cooked or added raw to salads.
