Liberon Teak Oil is specifically formulated for hard and exotic woods like teak and iroko. While it might be used on other dense hardwoods, it is not recommended for softer woods like pine or oak, as it may not penetrate correctly or provide the desired finish. Always test in an inconspicuous area first.

Reapplication frequency depends on the item's exposure. For outdoor furniture in constant sun and rain, annual reapplication is recommended. For indoor items or those with less exposure, it may only be needed every 2-3 years or when the wood starts to look dry.

If applied correctly and all excess oil is wiped off after the penetration period, it should not leave a sticky residue. A sticky surface usually indicates that too much oil was applied or that the excess was not removed thoroughly.

While the product nourishes and protects wood, it is not specifically certified as food-safe. For surfaces that come into direct contact with food, it is advisable to use a dedicated food-safe oil or finish.

Store the oil in its original container with the lid tightly sealed in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and sources of ignition. Ensure the lid is properly sealed to prevent skinning or contamination.

It is generally not recommended to paint or varnish directly over an oiled finish. The oil needs to be completely removed (stripped back to bare wood) before applying paint or varnish for proper adhesion.

This can happen if excess oil was not removed properly. Ensure all excess oil is wiped off after penetration time. For existing patches, you may need to re-sand lightly and reapply oil, ensuring even removal.

The finish is naturally satin. For a higher gloss, multiple thin coats with thorough drying between each may build a slight sheen. For a more matte finish, ensure all excess is meticulously wiped away.

While the oil contains UV filters, extreme or prolonged exposure can still cause some fading. Ensure the recommended number of coats are applied and consider reapplication more frequently if the item is in direct, intense sunlight for long periods.

Ensure the wood surface is properly prepared and free from any sealants, waxes, or old finishes. The wood may also be saturated; allow more time for penetration or consider a very light sanding to open the pores.
