Tulip sylvestris, also known as Wild Tulip, are easy-to-grow garden bulbs producing eye-catching and scented spring flowers. These tulips bloom from March to April, featuring a vibrant golden yellow hue and an open shape with pointed petals for added visual appeal. Their lemony scent makes them ideal for planting near pathways, patios, or driveways. The best time to plant these 5-6cm sized bulbs is from September to October in pots, or from mid-October to December (after the first frost) in meadows, beds, and borders. Choose a sheltered, sunny location and dig a hole approximately 20cm deep in well-draining soil. Place the bulb with the pointed end facing upwards, backfill with soil, gently firm it down, and water thoroughly. Ensure a spacing of 10-15cm between bulbs to allow for root development.
