The original Denso pipe repair tape is designed for protection below ground or underwater against corrosion on pipework, metal surfaces, and cables. It is also suitable for temporary sealing of fractured mains and cable joints. This tape remains plastic over a wide temperature range, is non-hardening, and non-cracking. It exhibits high resistance to mineral acids, alkalis, salts, and micro-organisms, and is highly impermeable to water, water vapour, and gases. The tape is made from a non-woven synthetic fibre fabric impregnated and coated with a neutral compound based on saturated petroleum hydrocarbons and inert siliceous fillers. Specifications include a breaking strength of 200 N/50mm minimum, an elongation at break of 10%, and a breakdown voltage of 16kV. The application temperature range is from -5°C to 45°C, with a service temperature range up to 55°C. The thickness of the tape is 1.15mm. This variant has dimensions of 50mm width and 10m length.
