Conté à Paris was founded by Nicolas Jacques Conte who created the pencil as we know it by mixing graphite with clay and introducing the possibility of different degrees of hardness. Over the decades, the quality and depth of the Conte a Paris range has grown to offer a wide variety of techniques and effects that can be used for drawing, sketching and pastel work. Tighly rolled sheet of paper used to blend and push colour around the drawing paper, shoftening edges and graduating tones. This tool helps mix and smear effects. Tortillon blending stumps are made of soft, hollowed rolled paper with a pointed end, ideal for using charcoal, pastel chalks, pens, and pencil drawings. The dimensions are 7 mm width and 70 mm length.
