The PH5 Mini pendant is a smaller version of one of the most iconic lighting designs of the 20th century. Originally designed in 1958, its design is still based on Henningsen’s celebrated three-shade system which allows it to direct the majority of its light downwards. This makes its illumination entirely free from glare, while simultaneously creating a sculptural effect. A truly clever design, the lamp features four shades crafted from powder-coated spun aluminium in a range of eye-catching hues, and is accented by rolled aluminium struts in a bronze finish. Complemented by a coordinating white ceiling rose and textile cord, the PH5 Mini pendant is the epitome of refinement. Place it any modern or contemporary home - its diminuitive size makes it an especially attractive reading light over an armchair or bedside. Designed by Poul Henningsen. Manufactured by Louis Poulsen. The pendant emits a non-glaring downward directed light, while also illuminating its own frame thus creating a soft, comfortable radiance from within the centre of the pendant. Poul Henningsen designed the PH 5 in 1958 as a counter-reaction to the bulb manufacturer’s many alterations to the shape and size of incandescent bulbs at the time, which Henningsen found to be completely senseless. Louis Poulsen Pendant Grey Metal. Dimensions: Ø 30 x H 16.3 cm - Cable: L 300 cm max.. This is the smaller version of the famous PH 5 pendant, in a new range of subtle shades of colour. A true icon of Danish design, PH 5 is one of Denmark's best-selling pendants! Designed by Poul Henningsen, the PH pendant was presented for the first time at the Museum of Art & Design in Copenhagen in 1958. Henningsen designed the PH collection of light fixtures in his quest for "perfect light", "to achieve as natural a light as possible". These lamps, encircled by metal lampshades serving as reflectors, cast a soft ambient light with no glare. The pendants distribute light both very comfortably and effectively, mainly downwards but also more gently at its sides. Its design makes it impossible to see the light source directly, so it will never be dazzling. It can be hung quite low, above a dining table for example, or higher up in the middle of a room. You can use a high luminosity bulb without compromising eye comfort. The pendant consists of three spherical lampshades mounted on a cone. Its mat lampshades are connected by rods. A vintage-style pendant that offers a perfectly homogeneous lighting, and which still attracts design enthusiasts the world over.
