Originally designed by Jørgen Bækmark in the 1960s, the J104 Chair sits somewhere between a dining chair and an armchair — roomy, relaxed, and quietly confident. HAY’s version stays true to the original, made from solid oak or beech with a choice of natural, oiled, or coloured finishes. It’s got the classic spindle back and a wide, slightly curved seat that makes it comfortable for long meals or slower moments. Minimal but full of character, the J104 works just as well on its own as it does in a set. Designed by Jørgen Bækmark. Manufactured by HAY. Jørgen Bækmark’s J104 chair was designed as a cross between a dining chair and an easy chair, HAY’s reproduction of this classic is crafted in solid beech with a natural finish or a variety of coloured finishes.
