The FLYing Mountain Bike is engineered for normal use, excelling in everyday commuting, leisurely rides on paved paths, and tackling light off-road trails. Its lightweight alloy frame makes it agile and easy to maneuver, whether you're navigating city streets or cruising through a park.
With its 21-speed Shimano gearing system, you can effortlessly switch gears to match the demands of your ride. The Shimano EF500 shifters provide intuitive control, allowing for smooth transitions whether you're climbing a slight incline or picking up speed on a flat stretch. This makes the bike versatile enough for different environments without feeling under-geared or overly complicated.
The alloy disc brakes are a key safety feature, offering dependable stopping power in both dry and wet conditions. This provides confidence and control, especially when descending hills or navigating busy areas where quick stops might be necessary. The responsiveness of disc brakes is a significant advantage over traditional rim brakes.
Thanks to the front suspension fork, minor bumps and uneven surfaces are absorbed, leading to a more comfortable ride. While it's not designed for extreme jumps or rugged downhill mountain biking, it effectively smooths out typical trail imperfections, reducing rider fatigue.
The 26'' wheels, featuring double-wall alloy rims and tires with extra puncture protection, are built to withstand daily use. This construction provides a balance of strength and durability, helping to prevent flats and ensuring a consistent ride. The 26 * 1.95 inner tube with a Schrader valve is a common size, making replacements readily available.
Important Note: This bike is strictly for normal use. It cannot be used for competition, stunt riding, or ramp jumping. Adhering to this guideline ensures rider safety and the longevity of the bicycle.
Your FLYing Mountain Bike arrives 85% assembled. The following components will require installation and adjustment:
Install Pedals: Ensure pedals are threaded correctly (left pedal counter-clockwise, right pedal clockwise).
Attach Stem and Handlebars: Securely fasten the stem to the fork steerer and the handlebars to the stem.
Install Front Wheel: The front wheel uses a quick-release stick. Simply place the wheel into the fork dropouts and use the quick-release skewer to lock it securely. Do NOT attempt to remove any bolts or nuts from this mechanism.
Adjust Brakes and Gears: This is a critical step for safety and performance. Both front and rear brakes and all 21 gears will need fine-tuning. A general check of all pre-assembled parts and fixings for tightness is also necessary.
Strong Recommendation: We highly suggest taking the bike to a local bike shop for professional assistance with assembly and adjustments. This may incur an additional cost but ensures your bike is safe and performs optimally. An assembly video can provide further insights into the required work.
Rider Height: The 17″ frame size is suitable for riders with a height between 1.58 m and 1.80 m.
Wheel Size: The bike features 26'' wheels.
Inner Tube: Uses a standard 26 * 1.95 inner tube with a 60mm Schrader valve.
Regular Cleaning: Keep your bike clean, especially after riding in wet or muddy conditions. Use a damp cloth and mild soap; avoid high-pressure washers directly on bearings.
Check Tire Pressure: Periodically check and maintain the recommended tire pressure for optimal performance and puncture resistance.
Lubricate Chain: Keep the KMC chain clean and lightly lubricated to ensure smooth shifting and prevent rust.
Brake and Gear Checks: Regularly inspect brake pads for wear and ensure brake levers and gear shifters are functioning correctly. Any stiffness or grinding indicates a need for adjustment or lubrication.
Tighten Fasteners: Periodically check all nuts, bolts, and quick-release skewers for proper tightness to prevent components from coming loose during rides.
Inner Tube Replacement: For replacements, standard 26 * 1.95 inner tubes with a 60mm Schrader valve can be ordered from Sunrise Cycles.
