Bartoline 1876 PVA Adhesive - 5L - Clear

Bartoline 1876 PVA Adhesive & Sealer is a high-performance primer and bonding aid for interior use...Bartoline 1876 PVA Adhesive & Sealer is a high-performance primer and bonding aid for interior use. It is suitable for plastering, as an admixture, and for priming porous surfaces for use by professional users. This PVA adhesive will also bond most common building materials. Directions: For use as an Adhesive: To ensure good adhesion, surfaces must be sound, dry, and clean. Join the bonding surfaces together while the PVA is still wet or tacky. Bartoline PVA should be used neat in woodworking applications. Joints should be clamped together to prevent movement until the bond is formed (allow 24 hours to achieve maximum strength). When applying plaster, use neat and brush onto the surface prior to plastering. Apply while the PVA is still tacky. For small cement renders, combine Bartoline PVA with an equal amount of water and add to the mortar mix. This will improve adhesion and tensile strength of the cured render. For large areas, dilute 3 parts Bartoline PVA with 1 part water and brush onto the surface to be repaired. Apply the normal render mix before the emulsion dries. For use as a Primer or Sealer: For sealing porous substrates (old concrete, plaster, plasterboard etc.), dilute 1 part Bartoline PVA with 5 parts water and brush onto the surface. This will seal the surface in preparation for tiling or further coating. Minimum solids content: 34% Coverage recommendation: Applications for use vary widely and depend largely upon the porosity and type of substrate concerned. Therefore, the following dilutions and volume usage are intended as a guide only: Neat = 6-12 m2/L. Diluted 1:1 = 16-24 m2/L. Diluted 1:3 = 18-36 m2/L. Diluted 1:4 = 24-48 m2/L. Diluted 1:5 = 30-60 m3/L. Drying Time (approximate): Priming/Sealing: Dries after 1 hour. Bonding: Maximum strength is obtained in 24 hours. Notes: Use 1 year from date of manufacture. Do not use as a primer for paint. After use: Replace cap firmly. Clean tools with warm soapy water before adhesive sets. Protect from frost.
