Unlike many other Hydrangea arborescens varieties, this cultivar has a well-branched and compact growth habit, preventing flopping. With its strong stems, it makes a superb specimen for shaded borders or woodland gardens. Enormous, rounded heads of white florets stand proud on the strong stems of this deciduous shrub. Unlike many Hydrangea arborescens varieties, 'Strong Annabelle' is a well-branched and compact Hydrangea that rarely flops, for a long-lasting display, even in exposed positions. Hydrangea arborescens prefers a sunny or semi shaded position, with shelter from cold, drying winds. Grow hydrangea plants in any non-alkaline, fertile, moist soil. Improve the soil prior to planting by adding with plenty of well-rotted manure or garden compost, ensuring that it is mixed in thoroughly and deeply.
